It's safer, healthier, better. As you can see, US imports lots of meat from Mexico: The U.S. is the largest destination for Mexican beef exports and the U.S. share of total Mexican beef exports has increased from around 60 percent a few years ago to 90 percent in 2015. __________________ . Many of the wholesale processors were importing chuck primals from Argentina and Brazil as early as 1998 or so. Most of the local groceries in Arizona do a great job of country of origin labeling, especially the various ethnic groceries (Mexican and Asian). I saw this much less often in Chicagoland. I do not see any difference in quality. And the price difference can be substantial with some cuts, especially bagged tenderloins. As much of my beef consumption is prepared more in the Mexican style (slow cooking), I tend to buy more Mexican beef from carnecerias as those meat markets cut the meat the way I like it as opposed to going to a major supermarket where the meat is often cut off-site. |

| After going to Mexico and seeing how dirty it is (and maybe not all of it is, but what I saw was dirty and smelled like sewage), I would hesitate to knowingly eat anything that came from Mexico. Although even Oreos are made in Mexico now. But I don't really trust any food anymore, because I don't think our government really cares what we are eating or how it is affecting our health. There are foods that are banned in other countries that are not banned in America. |

...some of the best cheese I've ever had was goat cheese that my neighbor's mom made on her ranch in Mexico. They'd bring back fist-sized lumps of cheese wrapped in waxed paper every time they went for a visit. It was smelly but so delicious, and went really well with pork in tamales.
